国際シンポジウム「ボリス・レーマンとベルギー映画」

＜概要＞
本シンポジウムでは、ベルギーの実験映画とドキュメンタリー映画の領域で活動してきた映像作家、ボリス・レーマンと、ベルギー実験映画の研究者、グザヴィエ・ガルシア・バードンを迎え、ボリス・レーマンの作品をベルギーの映画史に位置付ける試みをおこないます。グザヴィエ・ガルシア・バードンによる、日本とベルギーの実験映画の関係性についての講演のあと、ブリュッセルのベギン会地区の再開発の様子をとらえた、ボリス・レーマンの『マグヌム・ベギナジウム・ブリュクセレンセ』を上映します。上映後は、グザヴィエ・ガルシア・バードンと、ボリス・レーマンによる講演を通して、レーマンの映画における、都市ブリュッセルの重要性を論じます。

International Symposium: "Boris Lehman and Belgian Cinema"

<Overview>
This symposium explores the work of filmmaker Boris Lehman—a prominent figure of Belgian experimental and documentary cinema—and examines his contributions within the broader context of Belgian film history. The event will feature a presentation by Xavier Garcia Bardon, a researcher specializing in Belgian experimental cinema, who will discuss the historical connections between experimental film in Japan and Belgium. This will be followed by a screening of Boris Lehman’s Magnum Begynasium Bruxellense, a film that captures the redevelopment of the Beguinage district in Brussels. The screening will be succeeded by a discussion with Xavier Garcia Bardon and Boris Lehman, focusing on the significance of the city of Brussels within Lehman’s work.
